The SS United States, America's flagship, could return to New York. The SS United States Conservancy, owner of the iconic ship, today unveiled an innovative economic development project.
Developed in collaboration with two prominent New York companies, RXR and MCR Hotels, the plan calls for transforming the iconic ocean liner into a unique, mixed-use destination that includes a 1,000-room hotel, numerous dining options, multiple event venues, large public green spaces and a World-class museum includes. The project could be the culmination of a decades-long effort to protect and revitalize the Hudson River waterfront, create thousands of new jobs and generate millions in tax revenue annually.
